Tarot arcana of conscious states (Tarot)

Description

The tarot picture cards, numbered 1 to 21 together with one unnumbered picture card, are referred to as the Greater Trumps or Arcana and are considered by specialists to represent in their symbolism the archetypal patterns present in all of creation. Just as the totality of all things can be represented by a circle, and the circle can be represented by the relationship of pi (3.142. 1), with a circumference between 21 and 22 and a diameter of 7; so the Greater Arcana of 22 symbols can be analyzed numerically. This analysis can be referred to states of consciousness using such image-ordering approaches as (2 x 11); (3 x 7) + 1; and (4 x 5) + 2; or by the permutations of 3 equals 7, and of 4 equals 15, so that the trumps are split into seven supreme Arcana, and fifteen Great Arcana of consciousness.

Context

The cards of the Great Arcana are related with the archetypal emblems and with the spiritual journey through the Kabbalistic Tree of Life.
