Emblems of the mysterious (Tarot)

Among the archetypes projected by the psyche are emblems indicating indeterminacy, the unknown, the forbidden and the hidden. These emblems include darkness, veils, masks, shadows and mysterious apparitions and shape-shifting forms. In the Tarot the emblem of the Moon (number 18) is shown with howling dogs and a deep pool with a bottom-crawling crayfish.

The Moon emblem is correlated by Kabbalists to the 29th path, between kingdom (Malkuth) and force or victory (Netzach).
