Sphere of glory (Kabbalah)
- Hod-sephira
Description
This sphere of awareness is associated with passive action and with a calculating mentality and thus with the development of the ability to study. It corresponds to the developmental phase of childhood and learning. It is associated with the intellect and with rational thinking; also with the intellectual conquest of the animal instincts. It is symbolized by the positive and negative archetypes of the trickster, the crook and the planet Mercury, as well as by Aaron in the Jewish tradition. This state of consciousness corresponds to the kabbalistic World of Formation.
Context
The eighth of ten spheres described in the Kabbalistic system of sephiroth.
