Sphere of judgement (Kabbalah)

This sphere of awareness is associated with passive emotion and with a sense of discernment and thus with the development of discipline. It corresponds to the developmental phase of early middle age and the cultivation of determination. This state is associated with the universal laws or justice that measure and weigh all things, thus fixing their conditions and limitations in the whole. A purging and cleansing force, through which unwanted and unnecessary elements are destroyed with severity and justice. It is symbolized by the positive and negative archetypes of hero and inquisitor, and by the planet Mars, as well as by Isaac in the Jewish tradition.

This sphere is the fifth of ten described in the Kabbalistic system of sephiroth.
