Tantra master-in-sense-realm awareness (Buddhism, Tibetan)
- Kamadera-vidyadhara
Description
This state of awareness is represented by the Tibetan masters in western theosophic and occult literature, in which they are also associated with Shambhala. The vidyaharas (wisdom-holders) are especially connected with the kalachakra tantra and have been known to Buddhists and Hindus as the "Siddha gods", since their powers are god-like, equal to the divinities in the realm of sense-desire (kamadevas). According to Tibetan sources the masters antedate the Kalachakra and are the source of all tantra. The master's own ruler is sometimes termed the Emperor of the World, or the Wheel-turner King.
Context
In Tibetan Sakya Buddhism this is one of the states in the "Ascension Stages Game". In some sets it is numbered 67 on the board.
