Spiritual anger (Christianity)
Description
Many beginners on the path of the spirit have a worldly desire to spirituality and when they have religious experiences they are often tinged with the sin of spiritual anger. When they come to the end of a spiritual experience they naturally become upset and take their displeasure out on themselves and others. They become upset over the smallest of things. This in itself is not the problems but when it leads to wallowing in disappointment it becomes a hindrance to growth in the spirit. Another form of this is demonstrated by people who become irritated at the faults of others. They begin to watch out for these errors and even continually point them out. They become arbiters of goodness. A third form is when people become annoyed when they become aware of their own imperfections; which is quite the opposite of spiritual meekness and humility. They think spiritual perfection is to be reached overnight. They aim to do a great deal and time and again make resolutions and promises. Because they are over confident and not humble they fail in their intentions and become even more angry. They do not have the patience to wait for the spirit to come as and when it will.
