Spiritual avarice (Christianity)
- Spiritual greed
Description
For those at the beginning of the journey of the spirit who become dissatisfied with the spirituality they have been given, do not find comfort they desire in the spiritual things they have and are unhappy and complaining, are experiencing spiritual avarice. They constantly listen to the advice of others, go to spiritual counsellors, attend retreats, spend their time buying and reading books on spirituality. They thus avoid killing off their own human desires and growing spiritually. They gather around themselves spiritual artefacts, especially those of value. They collect, barter and trade sacred icons, medals, medallions, scrolls, relics and beads. They collect valuable things related to the spirit in direct opposition to the devotional life.
