Darsana marga (Buddhism)
- Path of seeing
- Darshana marga
Description
This is the stage where an understanding of the four noble truths is developed and is equivalent to the first stage of the bodhisattva. In yogacara, this is where understanding and not just knowledge of the teaching develops – there is intuitive awareness of the identity of subject and object. The klesas – defilements which are the cause of all misery and affliction – start to be eliminated and the alaya-vijnana to be clarified.
Context
The third phase of the path to realization when the journey is seen in five stages – panca marga. Also the second stage on the path of liberation as practised in yogacara.
