Afflictions (Yoga, Hinduism)

  • Klesas
  • Kleshas
  • Causes of misery

Description

Unable, through deluded sense of egoism, to be aware of true reality, the individual is swayed by attraction and repulsion, attachment to possessions and to the present life. This is the cause of all misery and affliction. The practice of yoga is designed to free one's self from this delusion and achieve objective awareness of reality free from the cause of misery.
