This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.
Claim:
Workers and their representatives should be involved in the design and implementation of training programmes conducted by employers and governments to augment workers' environmental awareness, ensure their safety and health, and improve their economic and social welfare.
