Strengthening role of indigenous women

Implementation:
This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.
Claim:
International development agencies and governments should commit financial and other resources to education and training for indigenous people and their communities so as to develop their capacities to achieve sustainable self-development and to contribute to and participate in sustainable and equitable development at the national level. Particular attention should be given to strengthening the role of indigenous women.
