Expanding tripartite cooperation to improve safety, health and environment

Implementation:
This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities. Agenda 21 recommends establishment of joint (employer/worker) or tripartite (employer/worker/government) collaborative mechanisms at workplace, community and national levels to deal with safety, health and environment, including special reference to the rights and status of women in the workplace.
