Receiving (Buddhism)
Description
The element of eye, ear, nose, tongue or body consciousness has arisen and ceased, and the mind-element arises and receives their object, profitable or moral resultant from profitable or moral resultant, unprofitable or immoral resultant from unprofitable or immoral resultant. This are therefore two kinds of resultant consciousness.
Context
In Hinayana Buddhism, this is the ninth mode of occurrence of consciousness in which the 89 kinds of consciousness proceed.
