Level of the mental body

This is the beginning of knowledge gained through direct experience, the level of the letters to the seven churches, of the polarities of the zodiac and their point of resolution. Here there is understanding, even of the level of consciousness where life is seen from the divine perspective. It is the level of astrology, of responsibility for one's self and one's destiny, as one works to change one's consciousness.

The fourth level in progressing from the lower self to the higher self as described by F Aster Barnwell. Mastery of the first three levels (the lower self) as experienced in the three temptations faced by Christ in the wilderness, followed by the four levels of the higher self experienced by St John during his Revelation, are related to progression towards self realization through the levels of consciousness represented by the chakras.
