Anahata (Yoga)

  • Not hit awareness
  • Fourth chakra

Description

The human level is distinguished from sublimated animal aims and drives. The individual's aims and drives become envisioned and awakened; religious symbols, artistic images and philosophical questions refer to this level and beyond. This is the chakra at the level of [vayu]

(air) and thus of touch. Awareness is of the sound anterior to things - of sound not produced by the striking together of two things. Meditation which evolves through the fourth chakra brings mastery of language, poetry and verbal endeavour and of desires (indriyas) and physical functions. The person is master of himself and gains wisdom and inner strength. Male and female energy are balanced, all relationships become pure, the senses are controlled, the person flows freely, with no hindrance from external barriers. Having evolved beyond circumstantial and environmental limitations, the person is independent and self-emanating. Others are inspired by his life and are calm and peaceful in his presence. Divine vision evolves with pure sound, bringing a balance of action and joy. Power is gained over the element air. Since air is formless, the person has power to become invisible, travel through space, enter the bodies of others.

This chakra encompasses sudharma (right or apt religion), good tendencies, the planes of sanctity, balance and fragrance. When negative karmas are enacted, purgatory may be experienced. The pure one who has developed good tendencies and sanctified his life to the human plane is illuminated by clarity of conscience.
