Barbarian-state of awareness (Buddhism, Tibetan)

This state is characterized by remorseless carnivorousness and warfare, so that neither man not beast is spared. It is represented by the Central Asian Turkic tribes whose members were butchers in Tibet. Their religion is Islam which, however, is not considered independent, but as a link in Asian spiritual unfoldment. Hence, should they enter the stream, all Islamic practitioners may rise to the spiritual state equivalent to "Hindu Wisdom-holder", according to Sakya Buddhists, and to the higher states accessible to the dharma followers.

In Tibetan Sakya Buddhism this is one of the states in the "Ascension Stages Game". In some sets it is numbered 21 on the board.
