Ajna (Yoga)
- Awareness of authority
- Sixth chakra
Description
The mystic inward ear and eye are fully open, one is in heaven, the soul beholding its perfect object, God. All five elements are present in their rarified pure essence (tanmatra). Meditating on this chakra the person has all his sins and impurities eradicated, all karma from previous lives destroyed. The state is that of jivanmukti, one who has attained liberation in this life and will not be reborn. All those in his presence are calm and sensitive to the sound frequencies of AUM – the sound which generates from the person's body itself. He is beyond the desires that motivate life and impel movements in many directions. He is now one-pointed, a knower of past, present and future, beyond time in sushumna. As long as he is in the physical body there is no more backsliding, there is constant state of nondual consciousness. Able to enter any body at will, he can comprehend the inner meaning of cosmic knowledge and generate scriptures. Revealing the divine within; he reflects divinity within others. Having evolved through the fourth and fifth levels of ananda (bliss) and chit (cosmic consciousness) he becomes sat (truth) and embodies sat-chit-ananda and knows "that I am; I am that". The realization "hamsa", "I am that", is the reverse of "soham" or "that I am" of the previous chakra. He is called paramhamsa.
