Initiation of transfiguration (Esotericism)

Description

The liberating experience associated with this initiation is that of freedom from the ancient authority of the threshold personality. It is a recognition of complete spiritual control of the personality which is thereby transfigured. The new awareness produces its main effects upon the mind. It enables the initiate to use the mind as his major instrument in the work to be done. The individual becomes a transmitter of energy which is stepped down into the activities of groups, whether or not he is conscious of the process. His thought life therefore becomes the field of his major effort as the arena in which the direction of energy is determined. He endeavours to concentrate within himself so that he may eventually come to control the flow of such energy. The individual's task thus becomes greater personality integration, so that he becomes an increasingly soul-infused personality, as well as greater integration with his environment in a service role. He is no longer troubled by any sense of separateness and division. He feels and knows something of the essential unity of all manifested life.
