Using appropriate farm technologies

Implementation:
This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities. Agenda 21 recommends the formulation, introduction and monitoring of policies, laws, regulations and incentives leading to the development and transfer of appropriate farm technologies.
Claim:
Governments at the appropriate level, with the support of the relevant international and regional organizations, should help farming household communities to investigate and promote site-specific technologies and farming systems that conserve and rehabilitate land while increasing agricultural production.
