Coordinating intergovernmental information

Harmonizing intergovernmental informatics systems
There are many autonomous or quasi-autonomous information systems and computerized databases within the United Nations system and its individual agencies. For the effective functioning of the UN, easy, economical, uncomplicated and unhindered access is necessary by governments and observers.
The UN stresses the urgent need for representatives of countries to be closely consulted and actively associated with the respective governing and executive bodies dealing with computerized information systems within the UN system so that the specific needs of governments and internal end-users can be given due priority.
