strategy

Providing technological information for better use of forest products

Implementation:
This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.

Since 1983, the International Development Research Center (IDRC) of Canada has supported a programme of research by the Chinese Academy of Forestry on Paulownia and Bamboo. This has resulted in many new developments in the classification, breeding, propagation, cultivation and management of the species.
