Electricity can be produced by using the energy of waves of water. As the sea rises and falls it forces air through a turbine, driving an electricity generator. Such wave energy units are best constructed at the head of a natural rock gully or a constructed channel as this encloses a column of sea water which rises and falls with more emphasis. Wave energy is a renewable energy source and may have a lot of potential.
Implementation:
A prototype wave energy device has been constructed on the island of Islay in Scotland.
