Hoarding

Description:
Amassing and storing resources, money, food or other valuable goods for the purpose of personal use or sale in times of shortage.
Claim:
Hoarding increases the scarcity of the resource and thereby increases its value.
Counter Claim:
1. Hoarding damages the economy by taking goods out of circulation.

2. Hoarding arises mainly as a hedge against the risk of future shortages and thus accentuates the very problem it is meant to overcome.
