Black skinned motorists are stopped on the roads by police for no other apparent reason than that they are black.
Incidence:
In the USA this alleged traffic offence is referred to as "Driving While Black." One study of police stops on a section of interstate highway in Maryland, USA gives some insight into the extent of the problem. Over several months in 1995, a survey found that 73 percent of the cars stopped and searched were driven by African-Americans, while they made up only 14 percent of the people driving along the interstate.
