Impoverished churches
Incidence:
Deteriorating old church buildings, insurance costs and declining subsidies from their central organization are some of the factors that mean that many Church of England parishes in the UK will need to increase their own income (from the collection plate) by around one fifth in 1994 to avoid deficits.
