Theta-clear state of consciousness

Description:
According to scientology, there are eight states of progressively widening awareness: of self, of mate and family, of group or tribe, of aggregates of mankind (nations, races, all mankind), and of the material universe. In addition, there is a seventh state of awareness, that of the spiritual universe (termed Theta) and an eighth state, the awareness of the Supreme Being. Awareness is a function of the interaction of three minds in man: the reactive, instinct-dominated mind; the analytical, reasoning mind with its ability to store and recall data; and the ultimate mind, the spiritual being in man (termed the Thetan), which is pure awareness and also the mind which projects space, time and the conditions of the universe and its objects. The Thetan being is also considered to be static, the ground of existence which, interacting with the dynamics of the eight objects of awareness (from self to Supreme Being), creates all energy, mental and physical. Because the analytical mind is dominated by limiting experiences imposed by the reactive mind, in the form of conditioning controlled by complex-like "engrams" in the subconscious, the Thetan or inner spiritual being cannot sufficiently influence the analytical mind. As a consequence, progressive understanding of self, family, group, mankind and universe is blocked. If the engrams are eliminated or neutralized, a person may attain understanding up to the level of the spiritual universe, a Theta-clear state of consciousness, and this expansion would render him free to act with the new energy at his disposal. Under the influence as the Supreme Being, he would be truly able, wise and totally free. The developmental technique called [auditing] assists persons to attain the spiritual, Theta state.
