Theta wave consciousness

There is some correlation between states of consciousness and brain-wave patterns as registered on an electroencephalograph (EEG) reading. Theta wave dominance is recorded when subjects are on the threshold of sleep and the conscious mind is passive. It might be tempting to call the theta wave reading the indicator of a threshold consciousness, but additional associations with the theta wave state need to be taken into account. One qualified investigator (E Green) has published experiments indicating there is a "theta power" associated with releasing psychic contents from the unconscious, and the authors of "Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain" have reported research linking theta wave propagation with psychokinetic extra-sensory power, the ability to move small objects at a distance, "influence" the outcome of a roll of dice and other chance events, etc. More everyday, the threshold consciousness before sleep gives access to "visions", that is, images, impressions and communications from the inner world, a phenomenon particularly noted by creative people.Broader:
