Second trance of the fine-material sphere

Description:
[Hinayana Buddhism] The goal of the second trance is to leave behind the mystical rapture (piti) which had been obtained in this stage of the jhanas. Only concentration (samadhi) and joy (sukha) are carried forward.
[Tibetan Gelugpa Buddhism] This is a more advanced stage of analytical meditation in which special insights are obtained.
Context:
This is one of the four form-concentrations [dhyana] found in Tibetan Gelugpa Buddhism.<
