Signalling community power

Celebrating gifts of the community. The effect is to call for participation in community celebrations that raise the community's awareness of its offerings.

An integral part of re-energizing public leadership by creating an operational context in which the executive authority recaptures authentic representational power while being held responsible to the individual.

Tactics include: legitimate power to limit decision-making power of leadership by community consensus; lionized heroes to create self-conscious public servant image with priority on holding common memory and directed thrust; celebrated community to publicize leadership roles through uniqueness, history and new vision; appropriated roles to point to the revitalizing dynamic which results from the intentional assignment of primary societal heads; and recontexted honouring to point to society's understanding that leadership is verified by sustaining significant engagement.
