Protesting unsound public spending

A 1993 Friends of the Earth report entitled 'Earth Budget' reviewed all the environmental spending by the government of the USA. This revealed that the government was spending only two percent of its budget on environmental programmes and almost as much on anti-environmental programmes. The report played a key role in bringing about changes in federal spending priorities, including the cancellation of over US$3,000 million in spending for anti-environment programmes, such as nuclear reactor in outer space.
