Protesting environmentally unsound policies of development banks

Implementation

In 1993, a letter signed by 12 Friends of the Earth groups and 17 other NGOs was sent to the President and Executive Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, protesting their intention to finance the completion of the Mochovce nuclear plant in Slovakia. A protest to the World Bank contributed to the cessation of funding of the Narmada dam project in India.
