Promoting use of labour-based technology

Employment-intensive development requires reduced reliance on foreign exchange, larger shifts in income from foreign to domestic contractors and the restoration of access to markets, in order to achieve conditions for sustainable growth.

ILO undertakes projects to demonstrate the cost-effectiveness of labour-intensive technologies in specific infrastructure sectors.
