Moving long-term welfare recipients into jobs

It can be hard and costly to move long-term welfare recipients into employment. If people have temporary setbacks, they tend to be able to get back to work quickly, whilst long-term welfare recipients tend to face large problems in their personal lives that interfere with a recipient's ability to get or keep a job. It is in everyone's interest to help long-term welfare recipients become self-sufficient.
