Engaging human creativity
- Being creative
Description
Being creative means having an ability to see new relationships, to make or otherwise bring into existence something new (possibly of aesthetic value), to produce new ideas and new solutions to problems, and to deviate from traditional patterns of thinking. It also is the disposition to make and to recognize valuable innovations. Creative action achieves increased order or unity in some situations, perhaps by the emergence of a novel product growing out of the uniqueness of the individual, or their capacity to grasp two or more mutually distinct realities and to derive innovation from their juxtaposition.
