Assuring family health care

  • Protecting family health
  • Guaranteeing family health programmes
  • Providing family therapy

Description

Strengthen efforts of private and public sector organizations to develop quality family health programmes compatible with the culture and customs of the people; raise awareness of population and family planning issues; assist in identifying and developing innovative family health programmes by providing training and technical assistance; information, education and communication programmes; population policy analysis and formulation, seminars and workshops.

Implementation

Education of girls and women is particularly beneficial to household health because it is largely women who buy and prepared food, maintain a clean home, care for children and the elderly and initiate contacts with the health system. Beyond education, government policies that support the rights and economic opportunities of women also contribute to overall household well-being and better family health.
