Inadequate environmental education

The growing awareness of the need for environmental protection could be turned to action through an appropriate educational approach. Yet environmental protection is underemphasized in educational systems. Individuals and communities should be given the opportunity to find out about environmental protection, what action is needed, and what it would be appropriate for them to do.
