Unlimited commitment (ICA)

Description

This is experienced when a person realizes that it is not possible to circumscribe his action by a particular time and place, that if he wants to create a change he has to make a commitment to do whatever it takes to achieve his aims. It occurs when involvement is seen as not limited to one action or one situation but as part of a much larger situation that must be dealt with, as when Gandhi realized that his commitment to help the Indian people of South Africa was really to all Indian people and that he had to return to India.

Context

In the ICA New Religious Mode in the arena of acting out one's deed (the life of doing) the first formal aspect is surrendering one's self to one's unique calling as a person. At the second phenomenological level this occurs when a person recognizes one's life as sheer venture.
