Suffering servant (ICA)

Description

This is experienced when a person sees the price required for his decision and action. The complexity becomes obvious and he has to consider whether to continue through the thick and thin of his commitment. It occurs in a situation which challenges decision and action, as when Woodrow Wilson proposed the League of Nations and then discovered that his own nation was not prepared to participate in it.

Context

In the ICA New Religious Mode in the arena of acting out one's deed (the life of doing) the first formal aspect is surrendering one's self to one's unique calling as a person. At the third phenomenological level this occurs when the individual embraces his election to this life, this task.
