Resignation to the will of God
- Isvara pranidhana (Hinduism)
- Devotion to the lord
- Self surrender
Description
This way to the realization of self in samadhi is through surrender of attachments and personal desires until the mind comes to rest. One path is through not simply a pious resignation of the will of the ego to that of God, but a real desire to become the instrument of God in the unfolding of the divine will and the scrupulous following of right action insofar as the individual is able to discriminate at this stage; there is consistent effort to remove consciousness from the ego to that of the Absolute being. Another path is through the emotions, with subordination of the will to that of the Absolute through love for the Absolute. The two paths are the equivalent of karma yoga and bhakti yoga respectively.
