Level of the divine body

  • Mystical marriage
  • Fourth level of the higher self - Seventh chakra

Description

This is the level of the celestial city, the bride of the Lamb. At this level there is no duality. As one would expect at the seventh centre, as on the seventh day, this is the centre of rest. The individual no longer acts but, being totally aligned in heart and will with universal values, things are caused to happen. Just as the Lamb, the whole consciousness, allowed itself to take up earthly life and be subjected to humiliation and sacrifice in time and space, the individual embracing the sacrifice and suffering of the Lamb becomes part of the celebration of the marriage which is the echo of that sacrifice and suffering. In the New Jerusalem (the habitation of peace and rest), there is a wholeness/holiness, beyond time and space, totally new with no past, heaven (spirituality) and earth (materiality) have their boundaries realigned or removed, all is consciousness. The faults listed by St John at this stage are those which cannot be held in such consciousness but suffer a second death. What cannot be transformed will no exist at all, in death or in unconsciousness, as these are also done away with.

Context

The seventh and final level in progressing from the lower self to the higher self as described by F Aster Barnwell. Mastery of the first three levels (the lower self) as experienced in the three temptations faced by Christ in the wilderness, followed by the four levels of the higher self experienced by St John during his Revelation, are related to progression towards self realization through the levels of consciousness represented by the chakras.
