Group consciousness

Description

The formation of groups is a permanent aspect of human existence, whether family, regional groups, communities or whatever. The consciousness of being a member of a group gives heightened awareness and confidence. In particular, communal living and meditation favours the formation of such a group, and short periods of retreat to live and work together are common in establishing therapeutic or philosophic groups. The supportive effect of a group is the basis of a number of therapeutic methods.
