Discipleship
Description
Discipleship - membership of a group following the way of a particular teacher - requires the disciplines of: personal decentralization; relinquishing personal preferences; and service to the group. This forgetting of the personal self can be an uncomfortable and painful experience, as illusions are transcended and consciousness widened; but as consciousness is thus widened, the disciple is initiated deeper into understanding the group and reality as a whole.
