Eighth scriptural bodhisattva awareness (Buddhism, Tibetan)

Description
This state of awareness is characterized by independence, and is represented by the eighth-stage bodhisattva striving effortlessly, without attachment to any ideology. Nothing can disturb him, he knows that he will attain buddhahood and where and when this will occur. He is inclined to leave the samsara without becoming a perfect Buddha; however, he is said to be reminded by the Buddhas above him of his vows to work for all beings' release; and for this purpose he acquires still further powers. He can now transfer his merit to other beings. He renounces any further accumulation of karmic rewards, however delightful.
Context
According to Tibetan Gelugpa Buddhism, the eighth level on the path appropriate to those working for the salvation of all, leading to Buddhahood and the ultimate consciousness. In Tibetan Sakya Buddhism this is one of the states in the "Ascension Stages Game". In some sets it is numbered 96 on the board.
