Ego consciousness

Description

Consciousness has been defined as undirected attentional energy devoid of object but which may be linked to objects of consciousness, which rise and fall from its field with time. The ego is one object of consciousness, as are sensory objects, personal impulses, needs, etc, and also the relationships, roles, patterns of exchange which make up society. It is what, among these objects, is referred to as "me". Three possible modalities for the coupling of ego with consciousness, each implying a particular control strategy, are described.
