Cure
- Cure of souls
Description
In that cure signifies a transformation from illness to health, Jung considered an objective, once-for-all, cure under analysis unlikely. Nevertheless, there may be an acceptance of the illness, for it is the very illness which may provide the opportunity for development through reflection on inappropriate forms of ego adaptation. This may give rise to awareness of attitudes which are more adequate and the possibility of adjustment. The adjustment may not be long-lasting; but as the problem reasserts itself the experience may be integrated, leading to individuation.
