Ar-Rashid (Sufism)

Description

The believer is aware of Allah as the righteous teacher, the guide to the right path. This is the way of salvation, leading to bliss and prosperity for the believer who follows it. Man has to choose to follow this way, he is not forced. First he is aware and conscious of what is being taught, then he uses the intelligence he has been given to discipline and educate his ego, then he learns the divine laws and orders his material existence in accordance with them. The student sees the order within and outside himself, sees the will, power, generosity and love of the teacher and learns to love Him. He lives to do as He says, loves to work for His pleasure and becomes righteous.

Context

A mode of mystical awareness in the Sufi tradition associated with the ninety-eighth of the ninety-nine names of Allah.
