Alien consciousness

The characteristics given to hypothetical extra-terrestrial intelligences correspond in part to alleged human psychic potentialities. In terms of powers, alien consciousness is typically telepathic, able to project holographic images, and psychokinetically empowered to manipulate objects or establish force fields. Less is said qualitatively about alien consciousness, but a typical characteristic imputed to it is that it is not unitary, there being a group or hive consciousness in each alien individual. Moreover, individuality as we know it may not exist. The aliens, for example, may be clones. Alien consciousness may be depicted as very-long lived, giving an experiential quality that may be termed "wisdom" if benevolent. On occasions the alien is a disembodied mind, sometimes associated with habitation in the further reaches of space. "Our" aliens always communicate with us, however, regardless of their life-form (once we encounter them) even if it is by acts of silent destructiveness. At present, aliens are what we project them to be. They are our inner selves.
