Increasing stakeholder responsibility

Enhancing stakeholder engagement
Most discussions of stakeholder theory typically begin with the responsibilities of the company towards its stakeholders. This focus was reinforced by the traditional hub-and-spoke model of the company and its stakeholders that placed the company at the very centre. However, recent advances in stakeholder theory have begun to understand the company and its stakeholders as embedded in a network of relationships. With the increased prominence of stakeholders that this conceptual shift implies, attention has now turned to stakeholder responsibilities as well as rights.
