Description:
Writing slogans on walls as a media for propaganda, or leaving drawings and symbols associated with a movement.
Context:
Revolutionary movements have long used walls for communication. There is evidence of such use in imperial Rome by the Christians.
Implementation:
Examples of this are the student revolts of France, USA and elsewhere in 1968, Latin American election campaigns and poster campaigns in China.
Claim:
Wall writings are often witty, original ways to express the spirit and philosophy of a revolutionary movement.
Counter Claim:
Graffiti vandalizes property by assuming non-owners have a right to proclaim ideologies upon any convenient surface.
