Supporting Agenda 21 contribution of NGOs and NGO networks in developing countries

Implementation:
This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities. Agenda 21 recommends that relevant non-governmental organizations, including the scientific community, the private sector, women's groups, [etc], should be given the opportunity to make their contribution and establish appropriate relationships with the UN system. Support should be provided for developing countries' non-governmental organizations and their self-organized networks.
